|While there are LOTS of Saturday rides out there in our area, there aren’t many geared towards beginner and intermediate riders.
This ride usually starts at Boston Coffeehouse on Waterford Lakes Parkway at 7:15 am. At other times, we will meet at the corner of Discovery and Research Parkway. Park in the lot by the “Biomolecular Research Annex” (sounds scary doesn’t it?).
There are some unavoidable sections of busy road with no cycle lanes but most of the ride is on back roads with very little traffic. A map is shown below.
There is one section in the Research Park area where we cross a pedestrian bridge that is very narrow and doubles back on itself, so it necessitates walking the bike through. The entire ride is about 33 miles long and should take about 2 hours, or maybe a little more. The pace will be right around 15 mph.
This is a no-drop ride. The ride leader will stay with the slowest riders, or designate a “sweep” to do so. We want people to enjoy themselves!
